Margarida "Guida" Baptista De Barros, 41, passed away unexpectedly on January 19, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Jaime "Pai De Coba" Barros, and Carminda "Mai De Coba" Barros from brava Cape Verde.
She leaves behind her 2 devoted daughters Olivia "Lyv" Gomes, and Clayda "Syh" Gomes, two granddaughters Janiylah Andrade and Zylah Andrade, her companion Jose "Joe" Deburgo. She was the youngest sibling of Carlos Baptista, Candida Baptista, the late João Baptista, Bela Baptista, Napoleão Baptista, and Maria "bai" Rodrigues.
She was born in Brava, Cape Verde in 1980. She lived with her parents whom she cared for and supported very much. She was hardworking and always put family first. She worked at a family store for years to provide for them. She migrated to the U.S. in 2019 to reunite with her two daughters, whom they shared many great memories. She met lots of people who soon became great friends. She was an outgoing person who enjoyed doing nails, taking pictures, styling her granddaughter’s hair, and shopping. Cooking was one of the many things she was great at. Her food was always made with love. She treasured family time and always spoke great wisdom when giving advice. Her soul will always be remembered as kind and beautiful.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation which will be held at Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Ave., Lincoln, RI from 4:00 - 7:00pm on Thursday, January 27, 2022. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held directly at Saint Anthony Church, 32 Lawn Ave., Pawtucket, RI at 10:00am on Friday January 28th, 2022. Burial will follow at North Burial Ground Cemetery, Providence.
